Here's a peek at a gouache painting for a book I'm putting together that is all about awesome beards throughout history. Possible working title: "Super wicked beards throughout history". This one is of Blackbeard, one of the most notorious pirates to ever exist. He would weave hemp into his beard and set it on fire to look all super scary when boarding an opponent's ship, and kill members of his crew for fun, and all that sort of stuff scoundrels love.

Great piece. Just found your artwork and I'm lovin' the noses. Some of them have other great parts like eyes, mouths, and hair that I find equally satisfying, but their noses all make me laugh. Keep the noses runnin'.
